My name is Joel Rodríguez Alemán. I am a software developer from Gran Canaria, passionate about programming, heavy metal and videogames. Probably in that order 🙂
I am specialized in web applications, although I have a little experience in mobile applications too. I’ve got around 5 years of experience that cover working at companies, working as a freelancer and also working in my own startup for a year.
I spent the first 2 years of my career working as a freelancer for several different clients. During that time I had the chance to work at several web applications and also in a small Android project.
After that I worked on my own personal project for a year, a startup called Rising with a product called Scores. The product as an Android application designed to use music scores, and the best part was that this app moved the scores automatically depending on the speed of the user. Unfortunately, as cool as this may sound, from a business point of view the project was not successful, and so after a year the project was shut down.
After that I moved to Barcelona, and I’ve been living there ever since, working for several different companies. At the moment I am working at Adsmurai.
During my professional experience I have had the chance to gain a strong experience in PHP, and also some proficiency in Java and Python. Also, I have learned a lot about Object-Oriented Programming, Clean Code, Design Patterns, Refactoring and Testing techniques, Test-Driven Development and Domain-Driven Design. I still have much more to learn though, but I am on my way 🙂
